Hope Levers are ready to rock!

Look at us getting all fancy with our camera Eh! It took me about 6000 shots but here is a good close up on our style and lever design. That underside lip is for your finger kind of like a mini escape route if you slam the brakes to the bar.

These cross over to Hopes MINI/MR/M6 models and are available at any of our distributors!


We also notched the top side of this lever shaving a gram a pair and giving us an excuse to Lazer Etch our logo underside for a cleaner look.


They look pretty but there is a lot of work that goes into making a lever come to life! Here was our first test run with a simple Tombstone set up. You can tell I was a little excited seeing it fire up!

In this video you can see our Mori's robotic pallet system in work and our production Tombstone being loaded into the machine for mass production.

This video is just cool to watch, or it is really lame if you are not into CNC and hate it when I talk about them lol.

This is a dorky post for all the CNC freaks out there...

Some may know that we manufacture our whole product line on Morie Seiki machines with some serious money being put down for the future of Straitline Components.

We recently brought in a NL2000SY with Live tooling and the cream of the crop Bar feeder to keep it running in the nights, plus a pallet system for our existing Mori NH4000DCG.

We pimped out our NH with a 11 cell pallet system fully dedicated to making Straitline, backing up the term precision. The NH is by far my Favorite, it is huge loud, and all you do is wonder what machine made this machine...

We also took a call from the Mori Corporation asking us if we could showcase our gear at their Trade show events. A honour since our bike parts would be shown amongst the best of the best. Check it and you'll see our stem 3rd in the picture scroll IMTS INNOVATION

More CNC Porn!

I am trying to show our operations more and more and show the manufacturing side better. Soon we will have web cams set up for remote viewing but in the mean time check this little instalment.

A lot of you out there assume what you see just pops out of the sky or as easy as making coffee. But there is a hell of a lot more work involved to make the parts you love.

This is our Mori Tool Setting before starting a operation. If a tool is detected to be out of place or broken, it immediately switches to the sister tool and commences. This vid is just us playing around to capture the speed on film.



This is just cool! When we get our new warehouse sorted wonder if there is enough room left on the credit cards!

Our new CNC machine in action!

I haven't blogged much in awhile but today I found sometime to take a video of the new pallet cell in action. The loading robot is fully automated and we are half way there to setting this up for automation.

This is a CNC machine!

Above is a sample of what Dennis just made on a Haas VF2, it just looked cool so I posted it up but below is the new machines in action.

And to keep up with every ones expectations of me, I posted yet another shitty video- but this time not sideways. We do not piss excellence, our machines do!

This is basically Machinist Porn, not one video exist online of a Mori Seiki NH4000 in action let alone one with a pallet cell. This machine reputably one of the worlds fastest production machines and we use it exclusively for the bike division so if you are riding on our gear it came from this machine, be proud!

I will save you from the boring tech and just let you watch the machine tear into some material.
This is our test run of the pallet cell, you can see it is obviously not an optimal program and we are still awaiting the rest of the tombstones. Once we have them all in place we will make another video that will blow you away, this machine is nuts.

The new CNC machines arrive!!

Injection molding machine...Not CNC but new so why not show it off. Notice our illegal set up using a 5 tonn truck to drive a 18,000 lb machine with faded brakes through Vancouver. Safety first kids.



Worlds largest x-mas gift... New 10 pallet cell for our Mori Seiki NH 4000- It is the machine we use to make our product line.



Another safety lesson... Us and technicians doing it Egyptian style. A crane was suggested but why not hoist a 10,000 lb pallet cell from the rafters instead?
Cranes are for losers.



The pallet cell finally mated with the Mori, being programed by a technician. This is a mega machine, words cannot even explain it so I will get some shots and videos up soon of it in action.



It was too dark when this machine rolled up on a semi truck but this is our new Mori Seiki NL2000SY. It is basically a Top production CNC machine that will help us get into head sets, hubs and seat post as we grow.



The new Mori Lathe mated with its bar feeder ready to turn some parts. We Have a Citizen Cincom L20 Swiss machine but this is way bigger, designed for larger pieces and bar stock. So in stupid person talk as it lathes it can mill all at once and spit the finished product out as we pick our nose up stairs.



So that's a quick look into what has been happening around here and why we are so all over the place if you tried to email us. The guys have been in and out of training courses to learn their new fighter jets and the software that comes with them.

Guess we were supposed to play the biking game and show off new items instead we decided to make Straitline a semi automated firm with. Meaning as the machines work on their own, we can be up stairs designing new product.

All said in done 3/4 of a million in new semi automated CNC toys but oddly my computer still resembles an old Apple 2GS. What's up with that?

We will be dropping some kick ass new custom products when we get the machines dialed in!!
