Mike had a sweet ass run in the finals this weekend in Slopestyle… unfortunately his backflip barhop had his seat tap his back sending the bike the opposite direction. The trick was risky and he got deducted points just missing the finals.
But, he’ll be back and it’s no big thing, just more time to train right.

Just throwing this out there but how about we abolish the Race Plate for arm bands instead, or at least make them see through plates so that they quit covering up our stems!
Googling arm bands with safe search off can sometimes produce the wrong images. It was either this or kids in pools, I had to make a choice.
But my point being, arm bands minus this guys leather matching outfit should take the place of annoying race plates. Just saying it out loud, look at the race shot…nice stem!

I had never been to Teva before so I really wanted to make the trip out there. The course always looked awesome and it seemed like everyone was having a blast with each other.

Two months ago I received a phone call from Wes Graham (Goatstyle Director). He wanted me and my dad to come with him and the Goatstyle crew to Teva. I immediately got the ball rolling. I had my flight booked and so did my dad. I was looking forward on the trip and realized that I would be the only one in the condo who would be riding in any of the events, and it kinda weakened me. So I thought... Why not invite a friend?! I drove up to Benton Leong's house and asked him to join us! Sure enough, the next thing we knew, we were packing up bike boxes and heading to Spokane to meet up with the crew and catch our flight!
Our flight was delayed for about 5 hours, which led Benton and I into missing the first day's practice. We arrived at the Antler's lodge around midnight. Ben and I built up our bikes and went to bed. The next morning was great! Eggs, Bacon and Toast were waiting for us on the table! Thanks to Papa Groves for that! We hopped aboard our bikes and rode to Vail Village to see what was happening.
Around noon we met up with Justin Wyper, Reece Wallace, Sam Dueck, Noah Bousseau and Mike Dekoning. They were just going to watch the qualifying of the Dual Stunt. Benton and I had them point us in the direction of the slopestyle course and we adventured over to check it out. The course was sweet, nothing too big or scary, but enough to have fun and throw down. Practice was later that day, so Ben and I headed to stay hydrated and energized. Practice that evening was really good, although the high elevation was pretty hard on us as we got everything down pat.

Kyle Marshall is one tough mofo! He raced his first Worlds at Monte Saint Anne and here he is seen at Bromont purposely pulling the best POD ever! Riding for team Pinkbike / XMS /Devinci / Straitline Kyle has been pushing hard and as you can see, it only takes one slip up and you go down hard.
Good news is that he is okay, His mom Jane emailed the details and it consists of a badly bruised body … take a peek at the crash video.

Aaron Larocque actually swung by our warehouse yesterday with his girlfriend to pimp out his new ride, perfect timing to post up his new video and some mayhem because 5pm is play time at Straitline! Usually Dennis has schemed up a new bomb or Cannon and we count the hours down until we can try it out!
Today was Liquid nitrogen Cannon!
This time Dennis made his cannon by using liquid nitrogen placed into a 2 liter bottle that has been shoved down a thick tube to lessen the shock wave! It had some quirks, the gas never expanded like we hoped it would and we were left with a live shell no one wanted to go near… except for Dennis.but overall we are quite happy with the end results and promise to improve the technique.
Only lesson we learnt here is we need to put more nitrogen in the bottle. I cannot explain how bad we want to do this again the percussion wave set off alarms blocks down the road!
So if you riding a set of our custom Electrolysis Nickel Plated Pedals complete with custom etched Pinkbike Graphics, odds are you are a thief on a stolen bike!
We made these pedals just for Pinkbike and their race team, so if they are under your foot where did you dump the body? They are not yours! We of course made a few extras and feathered them out minus the logo to VIP’s but these will not be available for the public!

All I can say is that I never saw the impact until today in a video, our view blocked all the drama when Casey went huge of the step down obviously a little too huge. He was okay but ended up in the hospital to get his head checked out being diagnosed with a case of Awesomeness and a bad concussion.

I find it really cool how people see us online looking pretty assuming we are all hype but then when they score our gear they become our personal sales force. Enthusiasm is off the hook.

"Once I discovered the Straitline Components website after seeing a great ad in a magazine. I sought out a pair of the visually stunning pedals, the best part is the "GraveDigger" lime green color. Having a superior pedal of this color is fine considering most of my race runs are based on that theme of barely pulling it off and not crashing. Although that is a fun part of racing, I wanted to limit the unwanted "dabs" to zero and have full pedal power to the finish line."
So I just made up a build up video of the pedal to explain how stupid easy they are to maintain and inspect. This is of the 08 pedal, I will post the 07 pedal video shortly.

Casey Groves is need of some props for his progressive style and I think it is about time he gets some recognition. Being invited to ride with the best of the best this summer at various dirt jams Casey is sure to throw down and get scouted by some well known firms this year.
