Mike Montgomery VOD

Mike rightfully so stole the coveted Pinkbike POD today with a shot that captures how truly insane this years course was. Not saying that this is a good thing, most riders hated this years course and as Mike put it “The up top parts are kind of fun…” Then it just gets too gnarly but Huge congrats to Zink for the comeback, everyone did forget about him, its a shame how the industry works.

Mike ran a set of Jeff Lenosky flats on his Banshee amp.

The event organizers must hate me because we always rent the pimp pad and hang our banners, they edit the crap out of all videos to exclude us and the photographers tend to find that perfect angle that excludes our banner. But c'mon we need money for technology not fancy booths in the village!

Get Dirty!

I finally figured out how to set my post dates… I am amazed at how Dumb I am at blogging sometimes…

While you reading this I am on a deck, up in Whistler, beer in hand… watching the Slopestyle quali unfold right in front of us. I’’ll be with Lenosky and friends and those ever annoying Giant guys on the balcony to our right. So excuse me for pre-writing all this out but it’s not like I would be the news breaker on who won what anyways, you can scour the hot spots for it all. I will be super stoked if Straitlines very own Casey Groves and Jack Folgelquist do well though. I’d actually shit my pants if they podium’d, so cheers to that!

Enjoy this video I carefully selected for you until I am back on Monday, it may have been VOD but it is new to me and worth a second watch!

WTF is this… Vittorio Brumotti on Straitline

Guido of Freeride, our Italian distributor hooked up Vittorio Brumotti with our Pedals last year and we always get crazy weird shoots and news links coming in.

First it was him punking an Armarni show in Milan now a Guinness world record on top of death mountain.

What do you think of this Mr Lenosky?

BROMOTTIIPOD

Pinkbike just put the shot up as today's POD and also put the full story up HERE

I do not speak Italian either but I am sure in this video he says something like “Screw you Ryan Leech, I’m coming for you… and Lenosky sucks!” That was a lose translation of course.

Straitline is proud to announce a new Employee!

We are very proud to announce Justin, Straitlines new head of Production/ CNC Programming

IMG_0424

Here he is after his 15 minute tech tutorial…IMG_0427

It came pretty natural to him, the bucket height will be fixed after he completes his initial 3 month probation period, then we can discuss a wooden box.

IMG_0428

Training him was pretty simple, the machines are set up for Automation and he has extensive time on advanced machines from previous gigs…

IMG_0426

He did mention or at least we think what he meant to say is he is very up to speed with modern robotics and this is not a problem, when can he start!

Sadly we had to shake down some employees over the winter that were trying to start up a union and increase wages all around. Directly effecting you the consumer so you know we did what we had to do.

power struggle

Let this be a lesson about Greed… once you had a job that was sweet and flexible…now you don’t Kid! Work harder, longer and stay ahead of the pack!

power struggle 2

I made all of that up, but the good news is that we can make fun of ourselves and the machines are all automated so we keep small hands out. Or am I making fun of this because if I do it gets me off the hook for really using kids in the warehouse? You may never know but please support Straitline because we are family oriented and we put our money where our mouth is, you will know what we mean when you see us up close.

Jeff Lenosky limited 2010 pedal with actual 24 karat gold plated pins all made in-house with no little hands in sight. We use the kids at night out of sight to ease all the complaints.

Ryan Leech Manifesto

Ryan doesn’t ride for us we just like him a lot!

If you have never met him… for $50 bucks I’ll send you his address and phone number and you can find out for yourself how mellow and easy going he is. Part Joking… part not joking, I need $50 bucks!

Ryan threw me this video while I was at Eurobike in 07 all alone… and this opening scene got me so stoked. I was in a cafe in Friedrichafen glued to the laptop hitting rewind to watch it over and over again, the guy can ride a bike!

Manifesto!

If guys like Leech and Lenosky never progressed the sport to this level do you think we would be seeing a talent like Danny Macaskill exploding out into the scene like he has?

EVOLVE… old school vid with Lenosky!

I admitted a few posts down that we now Tweet and I too can stalk and follow with you guys. And while I was stalking… stumbled onto Evolve on Jeff’s Lenosky’s Twitter account.

Jeff Claims this video is what pretty much Started it all for him and it definitely started it for me. I find it a trip that we now work with Lenosky because between him and Leech setting the standards we all went out to try and at least manual like them.

Jeff sent me a shot of Jack his son wearing some fresh threads! My grandma actually knitted Jeff some custom green slippers to match his older pedals and insisted that I get them to him, they are epic in hardwood floored homes!

Anyways here is the video that Jeff claims started it all-

Lenosky’s personal edition pedal is soon to drop and if you have yet to see it they are the sexiest pedal we have produced to date!

24 Karat gold pins –plated of course- and matte black body!

Oh and this is a trade secret Lenosky will deny if you even ask him about it!
