Camp of Champions is a wrap!

Okay today is Friday! And on Fridays, I am not an all star in the office, I tend to twirl in my chair or wander the floor asking the guys, "what's that?", "Did you make it?", "What are we doing for lunch?", "Dennis, why don't people put helium in their tubes instead of air?" and that is a very good question I know.

So I sent Jay and Keith at Banshee a sick shot of our boy yesterday Alan Hepburn testing the new drop at the Whistler air dome. Jay is so motivated and fast he already blogged it better than I could ever do. So why even try.

Here is the write up on the Banshee Bikes Blog.

And I avoided yet another task! Learn from me and have others do the work for you kids!

And no, Straitline does not support or condone this following message but we do have a sense of humour and are still laughing! Send your hate mail if you must.

Picture that's me on a Friday and behind me is Jay! Changing the title to Banshee would be better!

Fresh new Stems!!!

All about the Speed holes!

Above are raw stems just for a teaser, they are still a few weeks off!

Here it is... a zero rise 31.8 available in 35mm/50mm and can accept reducers for 25.4 Cross over and a 1.5 steerer version soon to follow. MSRP $125 available in August from your local shop!

It shares the same sex appeal as the wedge stem but with a traditional rear pinch set up, a little lighter too at 160g for the 35mm and 184g for the 50mm version.

Just like the wedge stem it will command attention with it's clean lines.

And those speed holes went through some serious testing, guaranteed to make you look 30% faster!

North Saanich Freeride park test run!

We finally received quality material and went to work forming/fixing the pump track. With Kyles skill on that bobcat and the ease of raking the material, we are almost ready to open phase one. Kyle gently forming the track with his bucket! This is when you sadly realise that you are not in as good of shape as you thought, you can hear me huffing as I video taped.

It has taken a while but finally we scored some proper material and had it trucked in by Gordy Martman Excavating. Before we had to mix 60/40 sand and clay and it sucked! Either it snowed, rained or we always ran out of material. But the new material is so easy to manipulate.

Kyle Michell, Cliff Haliday and myself hammered out the track in 7 hours! We had Cliff on the Wheel Loader dropping material in key spots and Kyle working his magic with the bobcat supplied by Jim Dunlop.

Kyle getting the Bobcat ready to show off why we call him the Rockstar!

Look at that material... so nice to rake instead of clay chunks!

More CNC Porn!

I am trying to show our operations more and more and show the manufacturing side better. Soon we will have web cams set up for remote viewing but in the mean time check this little instalment.

A lot of you out there assume what you see just pops out of the sky or as easy as making coffee. But there is a hell of a lot more work involved to make the parts you love.

This is our Mori Tool Setting before starting a operation. If a tool is detected to be out of place or broken, it immediately switches to the sister tool and commences. This vid is just us playing around to capture the speed on film.

This is just cool! When we get our new warehouse sorted wonder if there is enough room left on the credit cards!

Automated life is so hard!

I don't know about you but when someone passes out in my house or at a party with their shoes on... game on!

First Dennis fell asleep on the job while designing our new stem... and I do not tolerate slackers!

Then Mike, the big President tried to sneak a little shut eye during a packaging meeting.. he got pwned too!

New machines have definitely eased up life but sleeping on the job is grounds for a good head shaving or Hitler stash! They are both lucky I went so easy on them.
