Banshee 29’r decked in Straitline makes 29’rs cool!

I am actually liking what I see here. Keith is a true engineer with a masters degree and I know he isn’t one to whip out gimmicks and this bike looks pretty fun.

Mike Montgomery has actually already thrown it for a flip!

The Sicklines Crew gave an overview with Keith on the Mike showing you what's in store for this new 29’r revolution.

Our Taiwan visit and Banshee

We snuck off to the taipei show in Taiwan last week and I honestly have a new respect for the manufacturing sector over there. It was a wild city and the show is typical for those looking to meet a manufacturer but we went over to meet with distributors and learn more about the growing markets.

 round bar delivery 115

We stayed in Charming City Hotel, a baller of a hotel, marble everything and right down town.

Rob at Banshee bikes organized it all and we stayed with Aaron Larocque and the PinkBike crew and I ended up being the responsible one and never partied but they rolled in at 4 am nightly. Just putting that out there for a high five because trade shows can kill you and this time my credit card isn’t maxxed.round bar delivery 072

After the show we bailed but Aaron and Rob went south Island for some riding and filming and they captured Rob and His brothers little jump park.

Check out the video and send it around, it has a great vibe and it shows that it only takes a few to grow a market and a good bike scene.

Mike Montgomery at Woodwards

Wish I had a RV in black.

Road Trippin with Mike Montgomery from Alpinestars USA on Vimeo.

Mike road his Banshee AMP and our Pedals to a second place win at Krankworks along with Casey Groves taking a epic 3rd on his Transition, look below to see how dumb he is.

p4pb5485269

So to see him with his Banshee MK11 rig seems a bit out of place, almost over kill but this is the steed he built up for The RedBull Rampage last month.

I set him up with 2010 JlO pedals but was out of the signature 24 karat gold pins, more like I was in a rush. Mike was up at Camp of Champions compound in Whistler along with 4 other Straitline riders Jack Fogel, Ryan Berrecloth, Alan Hepburn and Casey Groves. As usual I was late for the ferry off the island and in a rush grabbed a handfull of parts to build the pedals and made Mike and Fogel realize how simple they are to build up. They got a classy grocery store bag full of parts and a chain guide in pieces to build up, I used my leg injury as an excuse, it still works, and avoided all the work.

Then Mike called up just as I was heading to Europe for a show and asked for a 50 mm boxxer for the Rampage, so we hooked him up and check this footage out of him flat spinning his dh bike.

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=158320037520094 it’s on facebook only, sorry peeps.

Pretty sick color scheme, wish I had a Legend in black.

Mikes build goes as follows:

Medium Black Anodized Banshee Legend, Manitou Dorado with Custom Green decals, Cane Creek XXc II headset, Straitline Stem, ODI Handle Bars and Grips, Formula Brakes, XO Rear Shifter, Manitou Rear Shock, Race Face Atlas FR Cranks, Straitline Silent Guide ,Straitline Pedals, XO Rear Derailleur, Atom Lab rims on Industry Nine spokes and hubs with Geax Neuron Tires.

Yah, what Banshee just said!

Because this is so poetically written I simply stole it instead of trying to compete!

Excerpts from the Banshee blog

#####

“Jacob Gibbins has been the man behind the camera for most of our world cup team videos this year, as well as all track walk vids... check out this show real he put together, which features a lot of Adam Brayton, I might have to tell him to slow down so that he is in shot for longer....

Jacob made Adam sit down in a interview and be serious for once in his life. Adam talks out of his ass so this video is tame and we thank him for watching his P’s & Q’s!

This video was on Banshees blog and I just liked it, nothing to do with us but enjoy!

Behind the scenes of Interbike Las Vegas

The Sicklines crew posted a refreshing video that shows us at home what Interbike is truly like minus the smell of urine in the streets.

We never went this year opting for a extended Eurobike trip. Take a look at their site, it’s worth a peek.

I like the part with Jay from Banshee bikes dragging his stuff, I so do not miss the angry Union guys!

Crankworxs! WTF?

Wow, we had three riders in the finals Jack Fogelquist Casey Groves and our new comer Mike Montgomery, all of them stepped it up on a course that was not the best to date.

Mike tail whipping the judge box..

Casey right behind him with his whip, this box was very scary just to look at.

Jack took a spill in semi finals but threw down like a mad man having qualified days before in 2nd place with Montgomery 1st.  Come showdown, it was the best event yet, the course was not a good one but the riders sucked it up and sent it for sure.  Casey Groves took 3rd with Mike Montgomery Second and a well deserved 1st again for Cam Zink! Stoked to have 2 riders on the podium representing our gear.

It was a tough course and Casey and Mike ended up on that podium and Casey is on cloud nine, huge congrats Casey! Just watch the video and see for yourself how huge it was this year.

Alan Hepburn -Days Ride!

Our Aussy rider Alan Hepburn shocked me today with this video.. I had no idea he had a home let alone a garage!
Pretty cool clip, take a look!

Still blaming Banshee for making me fall on the weekend. The wildcard just screams I am the sh*t and I felt pressure to show off.
Oh and since Banshee Bikes put me in this situation I have had a lot of time on my hands and have noticed how people treat me differently since the crash!
Here is Eric showing his true views towards handicaps…

Banshee AMP decked in Straitline gear

Again we popped up on Sicklines this time as a build kit to show off Banshee Bikes new AMP hard tail.

Sicklines chose a pretty lean build at 24.2 lbs, all the while choosing a strong component package over chasing grams and compromising what the bike can take on the jumps or street.

"The Straitline SSC (Split Steerer Clamp) 50mm stem is up front and looking sexy. Matching blue Straitline pedals as well to complete the subtle yet bold blue look we were going for."

I am digging the subtle look for sure with slight accents but I think it would be cool to see a Banshee decal underside the down tube but I think this is a proto fresh off the line.

Regardless this is a sick little bike!

Check this Ride out!

Because I got the skills to pay the bills I snagged a shot of Banshee Bikes new AMP hardtail. Okay it was actually directly sent to me but check this out.

The guys at Sicklines just built up their new AMP and dressed it up with some fresh new Blue from Straitline.

If I was more organised I would tell you the release dates on the new AMP but I'm not. Just really cool to see more BC firms step it up against the big corps

Stick it to the man!

This is my Friday filler, watch this to the end!

Alan Hepburn Still didn't get laid in Whistler

Okay I made the title up, I have no idea if he did or not but judging by the male to female ratio up there... I know he got some good runs in!

Alan snagged some fresh green JLO pedals and our new sexy pinch stem to build up his new ride... check out Banshee's blog for the shots of his Build!

Here is a little vid for you Alan

Camp of Champions is a wrap!

Okay today is Friday! And on Fridays, I am not an all star in the office, I tend to twirl in my chair or wander the floor asking the guys, "what's that?", "Did you make it?", "What are we doing for lunch?", "Dennis, why don't people put helium in their tubes instead of air?" and that is a very good question I know.

So I sent Jay and Keith at Banshee a sick shot of our boy yesterday Alan Hepburn testing the new drop at the Whistler air dome. Jay is so motivated and fast he already blogged it better than I could ever do. So why even try.

Here is the write up on the Banshee Bikes Blog.

And I avoided yet another task! Learn from me and have others do the work for you kids!

And no, Straitline does not support or condone this following message but we do have a sense of humour and are still laughing! Send your hate mail if you must.

Picture that's me on a Friday and behind me is Jay! Changing the title to Banshee would be better!

How straitline parts are made!

How booze makes Straitline Parts the best they can be...

I was hiding this for a bit but why not just show it off, I am sure people have clued in that we really don't care much for being serious all the time! Click the links!

Formula levers are in the house!

Okay lets all admit it, a hot bike is like a hot girl! No matter what you ride or who you are sponsored by or what brand you are friends with, a hot bike turns your head!

Our first Formula ever on the streets ended up Jack Kongs bike way over in Malaysia. Jack sent us his bike decked in SL components and it looks so sexy I had to post it up.

If you have any photo's of your rides decked in our gear pass them along and will post them up. And anyone who knows how to create a blog as good as Banshee Bikes, or anyone who is willing to just hack their computers and send me that info that be great! I am a tad dumb on the blogging side of things but i will try to make the blog more fun as we go.

This is just a rad shot from Austrailia, and a perfect example of the lever design. Find the nook and relax on your DH run!

Cheers!
