Megadeth Monday!!

 

Megadeth Monday Monday is my excuse to listen to music when I get in on my Monday and... a great excuse to search for people who get messed up and we can laugh at them.

Title says it all, enjoy.

Unsure if people are paying close attention to this but most of what we make is borrowed from moto. Our stems all use the moto clamp for the faceplate, meaning top two bolts first, then the lower two resulting in a gap and equal bar clamp.

This is DJ one of Straitlines owners and head of all CNC bling on his moto looking cool.

Brett Tippie is in my email and that's a better place then on the phone, he can pop an ear drum with his stoke. This video was my favorite from the Stoke me out Segments and the clay cliffs is how I got into freeriding back in the day.

Anyone else see a lot of the same out there?

This is not intended to start a war or anything but wow, there is a lot of duplicated gear on the market and the pr sheets are funny as hell to read on how they are different. 

I saw this video from Jon Lajoie and it was too funny not to share but his lyrics do make a point. All the same, more marketing than product design. The part on the token rap to me is like the token mentioning of the Shore or the term Aerospace grade, solid billet blah blah blah.

A lot of mimicry but I guess that is to be expected and even we had a hard time making our SSC and Boxxer Ultra stems pop out from the pack.

Looks like the other guys stuff but just a bit different.

Dustin Greenall Spring riding!

Dustin Greenall squeezed his first ride out for the season and sent some shots from Cranbrook! Dustin will be riding almost a full kit this year with SSC, stems /spacers/ caps and Platform pedals decked on all Banshee rides.




Dustin will also be back designing and building Darrens personal back yard lines and the ever growing Goat Style Jam, a jam that went from back yard sessions to full RedBull Sponsorships and Helicopters!

So get your buts to Creston this summer June 9th-12th!

Down to the wire!

Are we the only ones out there who work better under pressure? Being prepared and organised is for geeks and those creepy guys who sit at the bus stops.

We perform best with a gun to the head just like at a race you simply switch it on and focus.

Dennis and I had roughly three hours to rummage up a ad concept. I rushed down to the art store to get large white sheets for backdrop, arrive back at the office and cleared off the table, a table full of massive calenders with perfect white backsides...$3 plus gas wasted.


I ran -drove- down to the lumber store to buy a Florescent light ballast $23, balanced it on top of two chairs $free, as Dennis snapped shots and I dropped water on the stems singing my water dropping song. Realising really fast that water and paper do not mix!

We ended up getting smart and used a funky textured black board we had lying around and Bam... $26 dollar ad!


Down to the wire and off to the designer for editing. Here is the final result in rough form, this link may expire so excuse me if it is dead in a month!

The funny thing is as we walked up the stairs to our high tech photo lab Dennis dropped the Red Boxxer down the stairs, luckily you cannot see the dents!

SSC stems take the win!

When we first released the Straitline Clamp stem we joked about the SpeedHoles making you 20 percent faster... we were actually serious!


Here is the proof, the first SSC stem to be ridden in Canada takes the win with a little help from Dave McNaught the man behind Kona Canada and Pipeline Bike park pumping the pedals to first place!



To be honest it's not the SpeedHoles, they just look cool so don't tell Dave his ego might inflate and we are rolling with the speedhole theory!

And Last night the 1.5 stems came alive...

NEW 1.5 Stems are here!!!!

Wow, that was a special moment, this is the first stem off production, never been touched by human hands. Yes I threaded in the set screws but it was difficult not to touch the stem itself.

The 1.5 will only be available in 50 mm format and it is only 2 grams heavier than our 1 1/8th

We modified our programs to produce flawless perfect parts, take them out of the machine then off to anodising for an even higher level of finish quality.
pretty stoked!

We made the 1.5 a little different then the 1 1/8th mainly by making the pocket/ vents look more raw surrounded by mirror finish throughout the whole stem. Kind of like new school machining blended with old school.

I'll post it up with more info once back from the anodizing!
